International Music Festival 'Autumn Tbilisi'



This is an annual music festival, which integrates the concerts of classical music, folk and jazz.



International music festival 'Autumn Tbilisi' was founded in 1993 by Tbilisi Center for Music & Culture, Tbilisi Symphony Orchestra and Tbilisi Municipality. An inspirer of the festival was world famous Georgian conductor Djansug Kakhidze. His idea was to create internationally recognized annual music festival, which would serve for regenerating of rich concert-life traditions always existed in Georgia. During its existence “Autumn Tbilisi” became one of the most distinguished and popular musical events in the country. Besides, it is already well known outside Georgia – a lot of soloists and music ensembles express a desire to participate in this event.
Program of the festival is very diverse and combines concerts of classical music, folk and jazz.
It should be noted that the classical part of festival program is always standing out for great number of music masterpieces of different genres and styles. Besides, the festival gives big importance to presentation of works by Georgian modern composers and Georgian traditional music.
Every year the guests of the festival are famous musicians from all over the world. Especially should be noted : Nelson Freire, Yuri Bashmet, Natalia Gutman, Vadim Repin, Victor Tretjakov, Liza Leonskaja, Eliso Virsaladze, Liana Isakadze, Michel Lethiec, Francois Leleux, Lisa Batiashvili, Khatia Buniatishvili, Genady Rojdestvenski, Michel Legrand, Didier Lockwood, Jan Garbarek, Cameristi della Scala, Israel Camerata Jerusalem, 'Moscow Soloists', ZERO 8. A special attention is attached to promotion of Georgian performing art and support of young Georgian performers.
